POEM 1:
This poem uses words from the book Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. The poem relates to the book we are reading, Night by Elie Wiesel, because the poem I have created relates to the motif of identity that we see in Night when my poem mentions the remembrance of "your face" and the eye that I have drawn around the word "your" further conveys the idea of how people see you and your identity. This motif is shown in Night when Wiesel keeps mentioning people losing themselves and parts of themselves—such as the will to live—in the idea of fear and death.
POEM 2:
This poem uses words and phrases from the book Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. The poem relates to Night by Elie Wiesel because it uses words and phrases from a book about the Holocaust, just like Night, but also because it relates to the thematic ideas of ignorance and not knowing that we see in Night with how the poem mentions how the girl in Number the Stars was brave and confident about what she knew. She thought nothing would happen, but when the soldier stopped her, she was no longer brave or confident, she had no idea what was going on.
